WHY ARE THE CHARACTERS IN THIS SITUATION?
Start by reading the "Why Are You Here" section from the scenario, and make up a motivation for the player characters. Are they investigating a case of missing people? Are they shooting a documentary? Are they believers of the supernatural, eager to prove that they are right? Or, do they all have different agendas? Discuss this with your players and come up with something that suits the scenario and feels right for everyone involved.

WHY ARE YOU HERE?
3 people went missing after visiting St. Sánchez Hospital, an abandoned asylum..
The local police recovered a video tape from the location. The hospital was searched, but the missing people were never found. Having gotten access to the police's evidence, you came here to solve the case. On the found footage, you spotted a hidden doorway in the background of one of the shots.

When discovering Found Footage, hand the player the description. Let the player use the prompts to describe what they see. When they're moving forward in the dark with the camcorder or flashlight as their only source of vision, give them a short description, and let them tell you what their character sees and how they experience it. Engage them in telling the story.

While break dancers and the metal heads wore bandannas, spiked gloves, wristbands and collars, and leather jackets with multiple zippers, parachute pants, dangly earrings, studded belts, and handcuffs. The punks and the goths wore dark depressing black makeup and nail polish, and had wildly colored hair, and hardcore styles, like mohawks with liberty-spikes. The new wave kids had teased hair, sequins halter tops, lace gloves, and snakeskin miniskirts, and fishnet stockings.

Since its debut on August 1st, 1981, MTV was at the epicenter of everything that was cool. Before social media like Instagram and TikTok, MTV was what mattered most to teenagers, influenced and informed them of everything they needed to know about from music and fashion. If it wasn’t on MTV, it wasn’t worth their time.
